Which items work well with each other, which dont, and which ones cancel each other out

Fire Emblem + Sword of the Crypt - Stun lock FTW!

Armands + Mask of Death - They just dont work. We dont know why.
Armands + Durandal - you can only have one Orb ability ( I think)

 

I always go crown of kings, particulary when I have a mage or a slow hero. The endurance aura + boots gives me a nice speed and bosts the speed of my army.

If i'm range, I go armands. But only if I have a hero that doesnt have an arrow spell, like cold arrows because it cancels it.

If I have a melee fighter, I go durandals for splash, and sol kati for critical. Then I go mask of death and after fire emblem ^.^

 

Armdas and Durandal work together in the new SE's...

 

I'm pretty sure Durandal uses cleave rather than fire orb ability, which means it can be used with other orbs. My personal favourite is to use durandal and claws of destruction, or excalibur if I can afford it, and mask of death. Massive splash dmg + keeps healing

When im sniper i usally get aramdas + orb of poison, same effect as the frost arrows but it makes his crit work too
