 | Democracy needs to be fixed Seriously, man. Democracy needs to be changed. It's made it so that elections are now a popularity contest and that the most charismatic and not the most qualified politician wins. There's something seriously wrong when you have your opponent beat on the issues and he resorts to mudslinging. Look at the results of democracy: Ulysses Grant, Harding, Hoover, Nixon, Andrew Johnson, and most recently George W. Bush. We should go back to the good old days of monarchy. Or better yet, anarchy. |

  | Re: Democracy needs to be fixed A monarchy does not work, because they can change the laws of the land AT WILL. The upside to having a stable law system is that you cannot have a leader that instantly jumps taxes up 500% because he wants to add a wing to his house.
